Shockwave | 23-09-2018 09:37 | | Slams: 2114 | Hi Guys,
I just renewed this domain for another year, so it's paid up until September 2019. I can see from the admin console that this site still gets traffic and remakes are still being downloaded.
I have to give you a years' notice that I will probably not be renewing this domain next year. It would be really good to create a more modern portal to keep these remakes on display.
Ideally I'd like people who have contributed remakes to this site to contact me if they wish to take this off my hands, obviously as this is Stormbringers project he gets first choice on this.
I'm not looking to hand the site over until everyone has had a fair chance to read this and think it over so I'll check my private messages here in January 2019 and make a decision.
In the worst case I will create an archive containing every single remake on here and upload it somewhere so that you have a chance to download it but I'm hoping someone will take it off my hands as a going concern.
To be fair, I've funded this for over 10 years so I think I've done my bit.
Cheers,
Shock

dr.zeissler | 09-12-2017 10:34 | | Slams: 10 | Hi guys,
did you knew about a project that has a target of coverting
these intros/cracktros to the mac plattform?
I am talking about macos7-9 (68K/PPC) or if this is too low end
then PPC/X86 OSX ?
If there is no such thing, then it would be nice to have an assessment
if this "should/could" be possible.
Thx a lot
Greetings
Doc

Stormbringer | 16-11-2017 18:33 | | Slams: 5896 | Hi dr.zeissler
well, it's all custom code written, most of the time in C or C++, or FreeBasic and some (for the challenge) even in x86 assembler.
You can find tutorials and code here
http://www.dbfinteractive.com/forum/index.php?topic=4113.msg61239#msg61239
and of course a bunch of nice people who can get you started
Best,
SB

Can someone tell me, what frameworks are used for "building" these remakes?
Is it possible if I manage to get a very old version of that framework/tool that generates a win32/dx6.1 working version of that intro?
Thx

Stormbringer | 19-07-2017 09:16 | | Slams: 5896 | Hi Vital
give me a link to your remake when it's ready and I'll test and upload it.
Best

| Slams: 296 | So, I have a remake almost done, I'll most likely finish it this weekend. However; I don't really who to send it to? Or if there is somewhere to upload it so someone can test it before uploading it here to make sure that it works on machines other than my own developer machine. |
Hardrider | 07-06-2017 20:21 | | Slams: 660 | ... as well, nice too see some activities back there :-)
Well, I should blame myself first to have stopped coding remakes. Still some pending and still in the curse to discover time ... Who knows, I could be back ;-) |
Hardrider | 07-06-2017 19:32 | | Slams: 660 | Good news ! |
| Slams: 418 | Ok guys, I think it's fixed for now.
Changes:
- For now on, every new registered user account will be locked by default and can not post comments on BBS and Production pages. If he is a legit user, he will be informed to write a PM to an admin to unlock his account.
- Deleted a shit load of suspected spammer accounts, some innocents users maybe affected, sorry .
- New users also cannot edit their profiles until unlocked by admins.
- Added an automated list of admin users so new users know who to write a PM.
Best regards,
Rbz
|
| Slams: 418 | - "BBS" page is now modified to only accept "admin" level users posts.
- "Productions" page comments are also temporary disabled.
I'm still thinking on a way to not let spammers write in "production" page and "BBS", any idea would be much appreciated. |
| Slams: 418 | Hi guys,
Due to spammers invasion on this site, I'm disabling this BBS until we can block these nasty spammers from here.
Cheers,
Rbz

dr.zeissler | 18-09-2015 16:18 | | Slams: 10 | Thx again, do you see any chance to port them to an older layer?
DX6 support and much more Framerates on lowend PC's.
I don't know what the source-material is. Is the code reworked
or put between emulators or other middlewares?
W32
DirectX 6 / Direct Draw /3D
Running ab PII 233 and above
Win95/98 and above
This would be a dream if that was passible ...but I think it's not.
So I have to watch some old "Razor1911" stuff from 1998-2000.
Thx

Stormbringer | 18-09-2015 07:21 | | Slams: 5896 | It's not the intros that need so much power, but the graphics frameworks they use. We can't do much about this ... unfortunately. If you run on Mac, you can use a virtual machine for Win32 emulation and I'm pretty sure the intros will run fine too..

dr.zeissler | 17-09-2015 00:14 | | Slams: 10 | Thx! but I don't have a faster PC then my PII-333 (using a 27" iMac).
Some very old stuff works with win98, but not really smooth.
Really smooth is that one: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=735
That's really sad that these nice Intros need so much power.
Remember where thy come from 7Mhz!
Thx! for the reply. |
Stormbringer | 16-09-2015 20:44 | | Slams: 5896 | Hi Doc,
any PC with Windows 7 or above (32 or 64 bit) should work fine. Regarding the graphic cards both ATI and Nvidia should be supported, all models.
These remakes use either OpenGL or DirectX, please install the latest graphics drivers and you should be fine.

dr.zeissler | 15-09-2015 23:43 | | Slams: 10 | Any option where I can see, what my PC requires for Running some converted stuff?
I have an old PII-333/Voodoo3/Win98se+Win2k.
The two I downloaded do not run on Win98 but they start on Win2k, but I can't see
something because the Voodoo3 seems to be to old.
What GFX-Card is need to watch some stuff? TNT1-2? or something newer?
Thx a lot for this fantastic stuff!
Greetings Doc |
| Slams: 382 | Amiga games in general dont work properly at "no fucking matter what" windows compatiblity mode you choose... haha... geezus... and if you are talking about the intro, that works fine, and smooth!,

| Slams: 2 | Hello,
Nice site, good work...
But an Amiga game "Celtic Legends" does not run
under Win7 (compatibility with winxp or other doesn't work).
Thanks a lot and Greetings,
