If you were to do that then you should have it as a dropdown menu..

Same for coders, musicians gfxer's etc

another thought...

I was just visiting Hellsangel website (which I do several times a day ) and I thought he had a pretty smart way to associate the source code of the original with a prod.

maybe Hellsangel can give us some ideas about how he sees the resource page in the future?

@Tetra: much simpler than that.. just a list of groups like:

Angels
..
Crystal
..
Defjam
..
Endless Piracy
..
Fairlight
..
Genesis
..
Prophecy
..
Scoopex
Skid Row
Vision Factory

an alphabetical list basically. Group names would be clickable and the page generated would be the same as when you search for a group using the current serach tool.

The idea behind it was that most of us remember the names of the most famous groups only and maybe this could help to expose productions of groups that are less known...

I do not know if anyone likes this idea, but what about having a list of the groups (clickable) for which the remakes are available? when clicking on the group name, the search function would be performed and the prods dumped?

I'm not quite sure you mean here Stormbringer.

Do you mean something like:-

Production
Group
Coder
Original Coder
Original Musician
Original Gfxer

I know you think you understand what you

A re-design of the search page then?

Hopefully Tetra would be able to do something, but taking the idea furtherit could retain the search box for "all" and have several dropdowns;

[ TEXT BOX ] (Searches all fields of database)

CODERS MUSICIANS GFXERS PRODS GROUPS

And a "GO" button

Hope you don't hate me for that Tetra.
In fairness the search already works really well.

I do not know if anyone likes this idea, but what about having a list of the groups (clickable) for which the remakes are available? when clicking on the group name, the search function would be performed and the prods dumped?

Also what about having a next/previous button when one searchs for the prods, along with the 0,1,2,3,.. page numbers?

I was just thinking that when the number of remakes available will reach a decent amount, these features could help the user to browse the collection..

Also another stupid idea I had was to have "remake groups" (totally different from groups as teams, but rather groups of the same intro used by different people/teams/etc). I noticed that users often say that they prefer this or that version or a similar version used by another group etc (because of the graphics, music, etc). The "groups" could be just a quick way to find all the variations of the same prod..

Huge thanks Tetra

There is also a very significant improvement to the search too. You now have a new category called "all" which is useful if you just know a sceners name and cant remember if they were a gfxer or coder or musician and you want to search everything.

Keep tuned for more improvements, an please post any suggestions / feedback here
